Sakaya Farmstay
Conveniently located in Fukuchiyama, this farmstay isn't located deep in the forest like many others, but the location still feels incredibly private, and the building's architecture is absolutely stunning. The couple that runs the inn are incredibly friendly and welcoming. And despite the language barrier, they see quite a number of international visitors. The inn itself is beautifully maintained, with so many intricate features to explore, like handmade glass windows, a private Japanese garden, wood-burning stove, and exposed beams that reveal a skylight feature.
There is, of course, a farm as well, that visitors can tour and even harvest vegetables from. The owners also harvest their own herbal tea.
