Kyogamisaki Lighthouse
It is a white lighthouse built on a cliff 148m above sea level on the northernmost part of the Tango Peninsula. It was installed in 1898 and is quite a unique lighthouse using a high-quality lens made from French glass, which only five locations in Japan use. In 2008, it was designated as a Modern-Industry Heritage by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The location of the lighthouse is along the San'in Kaigan Global Geopark, and as such the lighthouse's cliff is made from volcanic andesite that has formed columnar joints.
